REGISTRATION & ENTRY
Entries for the 2012 event will open online 9am 1 July 2011
How To Eenter Your Team?
This year ONE team member can enter your team (you don't need to enter individually and then invite each other to your team as in previous years). This means the team mate entering your team must have all the details of their team mate (full name, email address, date of birth, address, emergency contact details & details of previous experience).
It will be much simpler for the person entering the team if their team mate has an Iconic Profile (which you should have if you have competed in the Motatapu between 2007-2011), having an Iconic Profile will mean your team mate can search by your name to find you in our system and add you to their team.
We suggest if you don't already have an Iconic Profile to set one up, it only takes a few minutes, click here to set up your Iconic Profile. If you have an Iconic Profile but have forgotten your password click here
Entry Fees
- Adult (20+ years): $320 per team ($160 per person)
Race Category
There are three Adventure Run race categories to choose from - Open Male, Open Female and Open Mixed.
Race Entry Requirements
The Motatapu Adventure Run is suitable ONLY for experienced mountain or adventure runners due to the demanding terrain and alpine nature of this course. A high level of fitness and backcountry experience is required, including navigation and survival skills.
For safety and environmental reasons:
- Entries will not be accepted from people who will be under 20 years of age on event day.
- The Motatapu Adventure Run can only be entered as a team consisting of two competitors.
- The field will be limited to 100 competitors (50 teams of two people).
- Competitors must be able to complete the course within 14hrs and cut off times will apply.
- Competitors are required to provide evidence during entry (please detail in the comments section of the entry form), demonstrating their ability to complete the Adventure Run event (e.g. at least three previous events covering similar terrain and distances and the results of each event. Event examples include the Routeburn Classic, Kepler Challenge and any adventure races).
- Entry acceptance will be at the race director’s sole discretion and places will be allocated from eligible entries in the order received.
- Competitors will be sent two emails - the first will acknowledge their application, the second will be sent within two weeks confirming their entry to the race. Any competitor not accepted will have their entry fee fully refunded.
- The race director reserves the right to refuse entry to any person they believe is not capable of safely completing the event and along with race organisers, and can withdraw competitors from the event at any time.
Newsletters & Magazine
Our main method of communicating important race information, prize giveaways and other relevant information to you will be via email newsletters, we do not post out race packs. It's therefore important to keep your email address up-to-date (by logging into your Iconic Profile) and to not 'opt out' of the email newsletter prior to the event.
Event competitor will receive a complimentary copy of the Iconic Adventures magazine. If you enter before 1 Dec your magazine will be posted to you during December, if you enter after 1 Dec your magazine will be posted in mid Feb. For international competitors your magazine will not be posted, you can collect your magazine from the Info tent at the finish line.
ENTRY UPDATES & CHANGES
The final date for any entry changes is 15 Feb @ 5pm.
Entry Changes & Transfers
To change any Motatapu Adventure Run entry please contact us to arrange.
Racing Under Someone Else's Name
Please do not race under someone else's name! It causes a major safety hazard should the false competitor be involved in an accident; we are without correct name and details, nor any emergency contact details. Racing under another’s name results in disqualification of both the original and false competitors from the race, and ineligibility for any merit or spot prizes. Both parties may also be banned from entering any future Iconic Adventure races.
Entry Withdrawal
If you wish to withdraw from the Motatapu Adventure Run please login to your Iconic Profile and apply to withdrawal, please note the final date to notify us of a withdrawal is 15 Feb 2012, 5pm. Your withdrawal and refund (if applicable, see below) will be processed within one week and you will receive email confirmation of your withdrawal. There will be no roll over of any withdrawn entry to the next year's event. You do not need to notify is of withdrawals after 15 Feb 2012, your entry will be recorded as DNS (Did Not Start).
