SUPPORTING
Supporters are more than welcome at the Fern Burn start line, and at the finish at Butler's Green in Arrowtown, or as an event volunteer. For further details about volunteering for the Motatapu, click here. Supporters should understand that they can only provide moral support and are not allowed to assist competitors in any way (e.g. no food drops, no physical assistance etc). Assistance of any team will result in their disqualification from the event.

Event Travel Distances and Times (all distances and times are approximate)
- Queenstown to Wanaka via Cardrona: 68 km / 1 hour
- Queenstown to Wanaka via Cromwell: 112 km / 1 hour 30 mins
- Cromwell to Wanaka: 55km / 45 mins
- Wanaka to Glendhu Bay: 12km / 15 mins
- Wanaka to Fern Burn: 15km / 20 mins
- Queenstown to Arrowtown: 22km / 20 mins
Recommended Routes to the Start
The Wanaka A&P show is the same weekend as the Motatapu so there will be a road closure in Wanaka on McDougall St between Brownston & Ardmore Streets
From Queenstown via Cardrona: We suggest travelling along McDougall Street, turn left into Meadowstone Drive, and left onto the Wanaka-Mt Aspiring Road.
From Cromwell: We suggest travelling along Ardmore Street and then onto Wanaka-Mt Aspiring Road to get to Glendhu Bay.
