REGISTRATION & ENTRY

Entries for the 2012 event will open online 9am 1 July 2011.

How to Enter a Team?

One team member can enter your team. This means the team mate entering your team must have all the details of their team mate(s) (full name, email address, date of birth, address & emergency contact details).

It will be much simpler for the person entering the team if their team mate(s) have an Iconic Profile (which you should have if you have competed in the Motatapu between 2007-2011), having an Iconic Profile will mean your team mate can search by your name to find you in our system and add you to their team.

We suggest if you don't already have an Iconic Profile to set one up now, it only takes a few minutes, click here to set up your Iconic Profile. If you have an Iconic Profile but have forgotten your password click here.

How to Enter as an Individual?

Those who have entered the Motatapu or any other Iconic Adventures event between 2007-2011 can enter using your email address and password used previously. If you have forgotten your password please click here to reset.

Those new to Iconic Adventures events can set up an Iconic Profile on our website prior to entering the Motatapu 2012 or when you enter the event.

Entry Fees

  • Adult (19+ years): $195
  • Teams (2 or 3 people): $240

Newsletters & Magazine

Our main method of communicating important race information, prize giveaways etc to you will be via email newsletters, we do not send out race packs. It's therefore important to keep your email address up-to-date (by logging into your Iconic Profile) and to not 'opt out' of the email newsletter prior to the event.

Every competitor will receive a complimentary copy of the Iconic Adventures magazine.  If you enter before 1 December your magazine will be posted to you during December, if you enter after 1 Decemer your magazine will be posted in mid February.  For international competitors your magazine will not be posted. You can collect your magazine from the Information tent at the finish line on race day.

RACE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is expected that individual competitors will be capable of finishing the event in less than 6 hours 30 minutes.  It is up to the individual to assess whether they would be capable of finishing the event within this time. There will be a cut off point of 3:15pm at Transition 2. The Race Director reserves the right to withdraw any competitor they feel is in distress and would not be capable of completing the event at any stage.

RACE CATEGORIES & DIVISIONS

Your race category is determined by your age (Open or Master), your division is determined by whether you are entering individually or as a team. To work out which categories you can choose from, click here. If you wish to race in a category below your current age category (e.g. you are a master and want to race in the open category) please request a category transfer through your Iconic Profile. Racing in a category above your current age category is not permitted.

XTERRA QUALIFYING SPOTS

There will be 10 age group qualifying spots from XTERRA Motatapu Triathlon (XTERRA South Island Championships) to the World Championship race in Hawaii, there will also be Pro slots available.  How the age groups spots are allocated will be announced after entries close.

At the time of entry every competitor must indicate whether they wish to be eligible to qualify for a World Championship slot and if they want to race as an age grouper or as a Pro.  If you choose to race Pro, you will not be able to race at the World Championships as an age group competitor.

Details of partcipants in the XTERRA Motatapu Triathlon will be provided to First Tier Sports Production (XTERRA NZ).

ENTRY UPDATES & CHANGES

The final date for any entry changes is 15 February @ 5pm.

Entry Changes

To change any Motatapu Off Road Triathlon entry will incur a $20 administration fee (for example the race category you are currently entered into).  You will receive an email confirmation at the completion of the process. You can apply to change your category through your Iconic Profile. No changes can be made after 15 Feb 2012, 5pm.

Entry Transfers

To transfer your Motatapu Off Road Triathlon entry to someone else, complete the Transfer Form found in your Iconic Profile before 15 Feb 2012, 5pm. The buyer must be pre-registered on our website in order to receive the transfer.  The seller must have the buyer’s full name and email address in order to complete the transfer. The buyer will be sent an email prompting them to complete a few details and provide credit card details as a $20 transfer fee will apply. Once all details are completed and the transfer is accepted an email confirmation will be sent to both parties.  If you wish to transfer a Team entry please contact us.

Racing Under Someone Else's Name

Please do not race under someone else's name! It causes a major safety hazard should the false competitor be involved in an accident; we are without correct name and details, nor any emergency contact details. Racing under someone else’s name results in disqualification of both the original and false competitors from the race, and ineligibility for any merit or spot prizes. Both parties may also be banned from entering any future Iconic Adventure events.

Entry Withdrawal

If you wish to withdraw from the Motatapu Off Road Triathlon event please login to your Iconic Profile and apply to withdrawal, please note the final date to notify us of a withdrawal is 15 Feb 2012, 5pm.
